Green Umbrella’s Karuna Kumar School starred in an episode of Make it Beautiful. The series was created by PNN for children and focuses on educating people about sustainable business practices, eco friendly products and looking after the environment. Make It Beautiful highlighted KKS’ efforts on improving the school environment. Students, teachers and parents all spoke of the impact that being in a beautiful environment had on their daily lives.

Karuna Kumar School rocks the ENVIRONMENT!
Excitement was in the air at KKS today as students, parents, and staff were filmed as part of a children’s TV series, (Make it Beautiful) commissioned by the Ministry of Environment. Presenters Duffy & Azu were super impressed to see the community working together to create a great environment at KKS.
Green Umbrella ran its first ever working bee for parents in December, 2015. Parents came armed with tools and energy to work on improving the KKS environment for students. They planted grass, removed grass and enjoyed a sense of being part of the Green Umbrella community.
Green Umbrella workers started construction on 1st-July-2015 on a two story Khmer style building. The building was completed in October 2015, ready for the new school year. The building will house a new Pre Kindergarten (November 2016) and a Kindergarten class downstairs, while upstairs hosts the administration and meeting areas.
